Dog Love
We are the proud parents of two fur babies.
They are our children and just as important to us as any other member of our family. We have had Asap for 8 years (Yorkie), and Lily for (Cavachon) for 2.

Being a dog owner, I believe, is a privilege, not a right. The same goes with any pets. They love you unconditionally, you are their entire world. They trust us to look after them, and in return they love us back. They bring so much joy to our lives and I hope we do the same for them.
My relationships with our dogs is very different, just like them. Asap is a nervous dog, but likes to think he's a German Shepherd. He's our protector and guard dog (or so he thinks anyway). He's always looking out for us and wants a cuddle. He likes play time too, but when his sister comes along and wants the toy, he drops it and lets her have it. Thats the kind of dog he is. Whereas Lily, well, she's totally opposite withe style of her affection. She loves food more than me - which I didn't think was possible. Her typical spaniel behaviour makes her our cuddly teddy bear. Whenever I'm sick she gives me hugs, or she acts up and makes me smile - its as if she knows I need to smile.
Lily likes to think she's Queen of the castle in this house! |
It has always fascinated me how different their personalities are, all dogs really. Every single one is unique and special.
Don't get me wrong, they drive us nuts too!
Lily has a chewing habit, and I mean serious addiction. Nothing is safe. She sees it, you turn around, and its gone. She's chewed my GHD cable, my bras, Chris' fave pair of jean shorts (thats right she got through jean shorts), our bed!!! She then went onto digging up my pot plants and pushing them down our front steps. I resorted to water spraying my plants that had chilli powder in it! Now I do not recommend this - this was our last resort, we tried everything and I was desperate. It did work though, thankfully, my plants have survived a whole 4 months - so far.
This is when Archer was particularly upset post his jabs. Lily wanted to show that she was there for him while I held him. It was a very sweet moment <3 |

But we still love them <3
We have been very lucky that our two have openly accepted Archer into our home. We were honestly worried that they wouldn't like him or act like he doesn't exist. Instead, its the opposite, they love to be around, check if he's ok and watch over him from afar. When he cries Asap gives me a look as if to say ' are you going to do something about that?' - side head tilt and everything. He makes me smile so much. He was my first baby. He's always known when I feel low, or want a cuddle, or even have a headache. He jumps up and sits on my lap and asks for a stroke. I always thought it was for him, then one day I clicked, he sensed I was unhappy and wanted to cheer me up and that was his way of doing it.
They love each other so much. She can't do anything without him being nearby. |
Paw love to all
